I’m pleased to recommend these two valuable learning opportunities to poets. I have great respect for Martha Rhodes as a teacher, poet, and more.

ONE-ON-ONE sessions with Martha Rhodes

LOCATION: Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan, 4th floor walk up, cats

DESCRIPTION:

*flexible sessions of 60 – 90 minutes to suit your needs — critical feedback from Martha; optional writing from prompts and/or revising
*bring 2 copies of 4-8 pages (to be discussed, depends on length of session) of your own poetry (new work, or revisions); optional email poems to Martha in advance
*you commit to and pay in advance for one round of 4 sessions (make-up sessions permitted due to weather or illness); you may renew for additional rounds

*your poems and your questions receive extensive feedback in a monthly letter
*send 6 pages per packet
*send packets by email attachment
*you commit to and pay in advance for one round of 4 packets; you may renew for additional rounds

Martha Rhodes is the author of four poetry collections: At the Gate (1995), Perfect Disappearance (Green Rose Prize, 2000), Mother Quiet (2004), The Beds (2012)She teaches at the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College and at Sarah Lawrence College. As well, she teaches at The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown and serves as a core visiting editor at the Colrain Manuscript Conference. Since 2010, she has directed the Frost Place summer Conference on Poetry. She is the director of Four Way Books, publishers of poetry and short fiction. She lives in New York City.
