Monthly Archives: December 2013

31 December 2013

On this last day of 2013, I finished reading the book, How to Read A Chinese Poem: A Bilingual Anthology of Tang Poetry, translated and annotated by Edward C. Chang.  Here’s a gem of a definition from page 4: “… the Chinese character that means poetry … (shi) … is composed of two parts: … “feelings in the heart” …  “words or speech.”

May your New Year 2014 be filled with “speech of the heart.”

Recently my husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary.

My gift to him was an album of the countless cards — Valentine’s Day, anniversary, birthday, Mother’s Day — which he has designed and handmade for me.

For each card he wrote a love poem. I am now encouraging him to publish a collection of love poems.
